Study of religion does not mean today merely study of particular religion; it rather involves study of different world religions, history of development of religious thought of the world and its relation to development of secular strands of thought throughout the ages. Moreover, study of religion today involves inter disciplinary approach which means, apart from study of religion proper, stud of related disciplines and subjects such as the following: Philosophy, Social Anthropology, Psychology, Culture, Linguistics, Sociology, Political Science, etc. These subjects will also be within the scope of the University both as distinct subjects and as adjuncts to religious studies.
In other words, study of the world’s study of the world’s religions, civilizations, eastern and western speculative thought, and globalization as an ideology will also be within the focus of the proposed University.
